Jimmy David Burton, Sr., 72, of Bowling Green, KY, was born on May 21, 1949, in Russellville, KY, to William Braze Burton and the late Dorothy Paulina Haley, and passed away on August 30, 2021, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
Besides his mother, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry Burton, and Lewis Burton.
He is survived by his wife of fifteen years, Diana Jean Burton; his children, David Burton, Jr., Carter Burton, and Crystal Burton; stepchildren, Ronnie Rich, Jr., (Olivia), and Jody Cherry. He is also survived by his father, William Braze Burton, his brother, Glenn Burton (Sue), along with many grand-children, great grand-children, and several nieces and nephews.
Jimmy was a military veteran and a talented heavy equipment operator in his younger days. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, including a little trick riding. He was a hard worker who enjoyed watching NASCAR and collecting replica cars, but he especially enjoyed playing with and taking care of his kids.
The family has entrusted Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Lane) with arrangements. The visitation and funeral services will take place on Monday, September 13, 2021, at Cone Funeral Home. The visitation is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the Funeral Service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Mr. Burton's body will be laid to rest at 3:00 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery, 1209 Fairview Ave, Bowling Green, KY.
